In 2018, Soles4Good launched its MVP in Senegal, shipping over 1000 shoes and launching two men in their microbusinesses. Upon arriving, we spent time educating our two beneficiaries, Sega and Malick, partnering with a local micro-finance institute (Aider Sans Frontières) to do so. The cousins sold out of these shoes in under 6 months and smoothly transitioned to selling soccer jerseys. Today, Malick and Sega’s continued success continues to inspire Soles4Good.

After evaluating options in Senegal, our team concluded that the country would not be financially sustainable to continue in. For this reason, we selected El Salvador as our next country and partnered with the Fiat Project. In 2019, Soles4Good traveled to El Salvador to continue our mission. We found our stay to be eye-opening and truly inspirational, and built off momentum in Senegal.
